Italy is a complete country touching every aspect of tourism. Italy comes in the top 5 of the most visited countries by tourists. It accounts for 62 million tourists per year.

A country containing a history of 3000 years will do nothing but boggle our minds with its art. According to research, Italy estimated about 194.4 billion euros to its GDP through tourism in 2022, which is larger than the GDPs of many countries, including European countries.

How to separate must-visit spots in a country? That’s why I’m here to give you 4 must-visit places and their general surface history for a simple understanding and to provide worth to your spent money.

1. Colosseum, Rome

The Colosseum, the heart of ancient Rome, is one of the 7 wonders of the world. An audience of around 6 million people visit this place every year. People stay because of the history this wonder holds for them: the record of blood, excitement, fear, and persecution.

The history starts with an incident named “The Great Rome Fire” in the centre of Rome, which made that area inhabitable. “Nero Claudius,” the emperor of that time, made some parks and lakes in that area. After his death, his doings were destroyed, and “Vespasian” started the construction of the amphitheatre which was completed in his son’s era on that abandoned land.

2. Duomo di Milano

“The Cathedral-Duomo di Milano,” a church that took 600 years for its completion. According to research, this art of beauty attracts a large amount of around 5 million hearts to its way per year. Its charming infrastructure contains 3400 statues, each containing a history behind it.

There were cathedrals before the Duomo, but due to fire and time, their conditions got worse. In 1386, the archbishop of Milan, “Antonio da Saluzzo,” decided to build a new church to replace their old ones, including Santa Tecla and Santa Maria Maggiore. This was like a group project of many architects. The reason for its formation also constitutes a partial celebration of the new lord of Milan.

3. Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Leaning Tower of Pisa, a bell tower leaning with all its glory. According to research, the Tower of Pisa catches the eyes of many tourists and is the most photographed and shared structure in Italy and gathers around 5 million people per year.

The history Tower of Pisa is 800 years old. But to be more short and precise, Pisa City just wanted to show off its might as the others saw Pisa as merely a seaport. Its construction was a message with an attachment of wealth towards the others to prove the elegance of the city.

4. Paestum

Paestum, Greek Posidieona, is an ancient Greek city in southern Italy. It is one of the most spectacular structures of ancient towns, preserved and conserved greatly. These are ancient temples with beauty dripping from dry stones.

Conclusion

Italy is a Bellisimo country. Every scene is a sight for sore eyes. You will find buildings whose architects will make you think about the statement we made about being the most advanced generation. You will be astonished by every step you take on every road in Italy because you will find nothing but art that makes your brain hit the roof.
